Widely used internationally in revenue and switchboard applications by engineering, construction, and power companies, CIC Current Transformers are the result of over 40 years of manufacturing expertise, combined with technology transferred from Messwandler-Bau (MWB) of Germany.

The primary insulation material for CIC's current transformers is the Araldite® epoxy resin, known for its reliability. The outdoor models make use of cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, similarly to ensure high-quality insulation.

CIC's current transformers, including OEM/ODM products, are type-tested and routine-tested by CIC-owned, TAF-accredited Advanced Electricity Laboratory (TAF, or Taiwan Accreditation Foundation, is a member of ILAC and a signatory to the ILAC MRA).

    The half-mold design of our EW-3S series current transformer helps customers save costs. It is easy to install. However, users should pay strict attention that, if not connected with a relay or meter, the secondary side must be short circuit; otherwise, it may cause secondary-voltage to increase, bring about inductance problems or other damage.

EW series current transformer is made with half-mold casting fabrication associated with two coils. It supports the current level ≦ 300A / 5-5A, and double ratio is available (≦ 300A-150A). Meeting market demands, CIC designed this dual-core current transformer within one mold for both metering and protection. The design not only saves on costs but also is easy for on-site installation. Since the secondary winding impedance of this is model is high, it provides excellent protection in the event of a short circuit.
