Medium-Voltage (MV) Voltage Transformers / Potential Transformers 12-24 kV
Indoor & Outdoor VT Instrument Transformers for Metering, Distribution and More
12-24 kV Voltage Transformers (VT) by CIC constitute a stellar range of indoor and outdoor potential transformers designed for various electrical applications, including metering, distribution, and specialized functions. Distinguished by their unique and advanced features, along with superior performance, this remarkable series of voltage transformers has garnered significant interest and widespread acclaim from numerous customers in the expansive international market.
In addition to the widely adopted 12/24 kV series, this versatile range includes single-pole voltage transformers that can be combined into 3-phase VT and Ground Potential Transformer sets. Also available are voltage transformers designed specifically for SF6-insulated MOF panels. The lineup further encompasses dual-functioning models that serve as both voltage transformers and control power transformers, providing an additional function as power sources for circuit breaker operation. Another distinctive offering is the voltage transformer with a metal conductive coating for shielding. Completing this essential selection are the UV-resistant outdoor voltage transformers for revenue metering, highly sought after by power companies in many countries.
The primary insulation material for CIC Voltage Transformers is Araldite® epoxy resin, with outdoor VTs specially utilizing UV-resistant cycloaliphatic epoxy resin. The type tests and routine tests for CIC's medium-voltage voltage transformers are conducted by CIC's Advanced Electricity Lab, accredited by TAF, a member of ILAC, ensuring exceptional quality. With decades of expertise in voltage transformer manufacturing, CIC offers customization and ODM/OEM services, widely adopted by power utilities, major projects, and construction companies worldwide for metering and distribution projects.

Single-Pole Voltage Transformers (Potential Transformers), or Three-Phase VT (PT) + GVT (GPT)
EPF-10CE, EPF-20SK, EPF-20SL, EPF-20SNE, EPF-20DZE, EPF-30DE
Single-pole voltage transformers in this indoor medium-voltage range are epoxy-resin-cast potential transformers designed for 12 kV, 24 kV, and 36 kV power systems. These instrument transformers operate with measuring and monitoring instruments for power system analysis and supervision or in conjunction with protective relays to support system safety and reliability. Selected models can be equipped with a primary-side fuse assembly, and certain models offering a rated thermal burden of 1000 VA or higher may also serve as a power source for circuit breaker operation, functioning as control power transformers (CPT), control transformers (CTR), or industrial control transformers in switchgear and machine tool applications.
12 kV & 24 kV Epoxy-Cast Voltage Transformers (Potential Transformers) for Indoor Use
EPF-20SI, EPF-20SN
Voltage transformers EPF-20SI and EPF-20SN are potential transformers for 12 / 24 kV power systems. These voltage transformers are cast in epoxy resin and designed for indoor applications, offering stable electrical characteristics and compliance with IEC or IEEE standards. Flexible configurations are available to meet different system requirements.
Conductive Shield Voltage Transformer (Potential Transformer) for 24 kV 4-Way Switchgear (Also Operation Power Source)
EPF-20FB
This voltage transformer is a single-phase, epoxy-resin-cast medium-voltage potential transformer designed to also function as an operation power source*, specifically paired with 24kV 4-Way Switchgear. It features a high-voltage elbow-type connector on the primary side and includes an internal high-voltage power fuse for protection. The exterior of the voltage transformer is coated with a conductive metal mixture for shielding, and waterproof treatment can be requested for the secondary side. The voltage transformer has a rated burden and accuracy of 600 VA / 3.0 CL.* Operation power source: In this application, the voltage transformer can also be referred to as a "control power transformer" (CPT), "control transformer" (CTR), "industrial control transformer," or a "machine tool transformer."
Voltage Transformer (Potential Transformer) for SF6 Gas-Insulated MOF Panel
EPF-20SH
Intended for power companies, this indoor single-phase epoxy-cast voltage transformer, or potential transformer, is designed to be mounted inside the SF6 gas-insulated MOF (Metering Outfit) panel of a 25.5 kV (max.) power system. With an added tap in the secondary winding, this VT (PT) can offer two voltage ratios (120/60:1).
12 kV & 24 kV Epoxy-Cast Voltage Transformer (Potential Transformer) or Control Power Transformer, as Power Source for Circuit Breaker Operation and Lighting
EPF-20DZ
This voltage transformer, cast with self-extinguishing epoxy resin, is a medium-voltage, indoor-type, single-phase potential transformer for a 12kV or 24kV power system for measuring and monitoring voltage signals. With a continuous output capacity of 4000 VA (max.), it can also serve in a small substation or a switchgear panel as a power source for circuit breaker operation and lighting equipment*.* Power source for circuit breaker operation and lighting equipment: In this application, the voltage transformer can also be referred to as a "control power transformer" (CPT), "control transformer" (CTR), "industrial control transformer," or a "machine tool transformer."
Outdoor-Type Voltage Transformers (Potential Transformers) for Revenue Metering
VPF Series
Outdoor voltage transformers in the VPF Series are medium-voltage (MV) potential transformers designed for revenue metering applications. As part of a Metering Outfit (MOF), these 15.5–36.5 kV instrument transformers are cast in Araldite® UV-resistant cycloaliphatic epoxy resin and are suitable for long-term outdoor service in harsh environments, including solar ultraviolet radiation, salt fog, high temperature, and high humidity.
